This dah how i mek my fish serre.... i got this recipe from mih granny and i love it. I know some people might do it different.
INGREDIENTS:
2 ozs salt beef (cut ina small pieces and tek off excess fat)
fresh fish
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp black pepper
1 large coconut (grated)
1 small carrot (diced)
1 green plantain or 2 green bananas
1 sweet pepper (chopped)
1 onion (chopped)
- Boil salt beef in 2 cups water til eh get soft.
- Clean fish and wash it with lime juice or vinegar.
-Cut fish in any size yo want and season with salt and pepper.
- Grata the coconut and add 2 cups water and squeeze to get thick milk. ( some people use the grace coconut milk if them nuh gat dry coconut)
- peel and cut the plantain or bananas
- Put milk ina yo pan/ pot . Stir constantly until the milk reaches boiling point.
- then yo add the salt meat, onion, sweet pepper plantain or bananas in the milk and cook til everything get soft.
- Add carrots and fish. cook til fish is tender.
if needed u could add more salt or black pepper to ur taste.
