Another day in San Pedro, another parade. Today San Pedranos celebrated the 23rd anniversary of San Pedro's Township. Twenty three years ago (on November 27, 1984) the then Government of Belize officially declared San Pedro Belize's 8th town. Ever since then San Pedranos have celebrated the anniversary of township with ceremonies and parades, today was no different.
Think San Pedranos believe they already have enough parades and celebrations already? Well they soon hope to add one more memorable day to the mix... District Day. The San Pedro Business Committee have officially placed their bid to Central Government their intent on separating from the Belize District and have Ambergris Caye become its own district and in doing so become Belize's 7th District. Until then, Township Day will have to do.
Following are a ton of photos that I took of the Township Day Uniform Parade. I can't post them all as they were too many. The parade consisted of mostly students from all of La Isla Bonita's schools.. tons and tons of kids. Hope you enjoy the photos.
Happy Township Day :beerchug
