Q. How did you and Aziatic hook up?
A. I use to promote a lot of smaller shows back in the day as well as perform, so I was putting a lot of Belizean entertainers on the scene and that's how we started.
Q. So you were the first one to introduce Aziatic to the Belizean public.
A. In a sense, yeah.
Q. How long have you guys been working together?
A. Whoa, Since late 95 or early 96, I can't even remember, but we've been putting in work ever since. Its been a struggle, for many different reasons but we've learned from our mistakes and are trying to make things better for us and other Belizean artist.
Q. A lot of Artist always talk about the struggle. What do you mean by the struggle?
A. I mean the roadblocks that you have to face when it comes to politics (the government), store owners and even promoters. I don't think that Belizean Artist get enough support from its government and to on top of that, some store owners prefer making fake copies of your music and selling it which stops food from coming into your mouth cause you've already spent your money, time and energy developing yourself as an artist and making an album, then they want to benefit from it. The artist should get 95% of sales if that's the case.
Q. Whoa, I never realized that.
A. Yeah, it's real serious men, but when more and more people start realizing it, that's when its gonna make a difference, then you gonna see more Belizean Entertainers surviving a decade in music. We have to be strong or better in every field, but without support, our foundation will continue to be weak.
Q. So what does the future have in store?
A. That's a funny question, but I see a lot more hustling, digging in the dirt and knocking down brick walls. Somebody's got to do it, but we can move much faster if we work as a team.
Q. What's up with future project; are you working on anything right now?
A. Well
Stamina aka The Mic Operator has been the driving force behind Punta's World Renown Artist ( AZIATIC ). With the release of (Jam 96X) and then (The Rebirth), Cokni O'Dire and later DJ White Lighting were the first to play Jam 96X and The Rebirth (Punta Rock Music) on any Radio Station. When no other stations would bother to play Aziatic's new releases Stamina used his influence and knowledge to get radio play on the O.T.O Hour which was a Reggae Show then headed by Cokni O'Dire at (KXLU 88.9FM in Los Angeles) to get interviews and airtime then later provided Press Releases that were featured in numerous Newspapers and Magazines around the country. He also did and continue to do most of the Advertising, Promotions, Distribution and Sales for Jam 96X and The Rebirth and has linked up some of Aziatic's biggest shows with stars like Calypso Rose, Lucky D, Michael Rose and the late Great Dennis Brown (Reggae Music Legend) and is the one who promoted the biggest Indoor Punta Rock show to date, which was held on March 31, and featured Aziatic, Punta Rebels, Inebesey and DJ Raymond.
